We’re OPEN as usual!

You may notice some building works happening out the front of our coffee shop; this is phase 1 of the Green Wood Centre site development plan and we’re told will have minimum disruption to our normal service, so we’re planning on staying open throughout the works. It does mean there will be slightly less spaces available in the carpark whilst they carry out the works, so please do park considerately if you are visiting us. There are public transport links and other public car parks near us in Dale End, a few minutes walk away, if it’s a bit tight on site.

More on Phase 1, the Coracle Shed project:

The Ironbridge Coracle Trust are building a sort of replica coracle shed of the Rogers Family shed down by the Ironbridge, to be situated in front and left of our coffee shop.

It’ll be open later this year as a visitor attraction - a self guided museum to learn about the art and history of Coracle making in The Gorge, and will provide a flexible space for community projects and groups to use for activities.

More on the Green Wood Centre site development:

We’re proud to call the Green Wood Centre our home for The Green Wood Cafe, and our HQ for our umbrella brands Gorge Grub & Coffee With Soul. The site is owned/managed/occupied by The Small Woods Association, they are a national organisation and this is their HQ (they are our landlords!) They’ve just submitted plans for the proposed re-development of the site, consider the Coracle Shed (though it was organised independently by the Coracle Trust) as just phase 1 of more to come! You can find out more about the Small Woods plans for phase 2,3,4 soon… watch this space! We’re excited to see how the site around us develops into more of a visitor destination over the coming years and look forward to working together with Small Woods and The Coracle Trust to support the growing community around us.
