Flaxmill Fridays – Late Night Opening

  • Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings (map)

Flaxmill Friday at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings!

After the roaring success of the first two Flaxmill Fridays we look forward to supporting Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings with their next public Late Night Opening; we’ll be open until 9pm on Friday 11th at Turned Wood Cafe with a special evening menu and a full drinks menu including alcoholic beverages.

There will be live music to enjoy for free in the cafe from Top Bananas – a group which features local storyteller, Jake Evans.

This is not a ticketed event, nor do we take table reservations. All are welcome; first come, first served (to remain fair to all!)

More about the next Flaxmill Fridays at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings:

In the the latest of the Flaxmill Fridays, Shrewsbury FLaxmill Maltings are inviting all to freely join the launch of LovleyLand’s exhibition in the Dye House.

Nature Connections is a free exhibition running from 12 August to 3 September in the Dye House. It presents artworks produced from LovelyLand’s 2022/23 support programme, displaying various techniques including crochet, mosaic, felting and yarn bombing. It is a true visual representation of a community coming together, breaking down barriers to participation in art by providing an inclusive and nurturing environment.

New to the exhibition is the Castlefields Yarn Bombers project – Mini-Castlefields. A model village style installation made with yarn, textile and model making. This project has seen an in depth look at a small section of Castlefields, including the Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, highlighting important landmarks within this community.

On the evening you can join free workshops that are launching the exhibition. Turned Wood Café will be offering a special evening menu of vegetarian & plant-based hot food, small plates and full drinks menu including alcoholic beverages from 5pm. There will be free music from Top Bananas – a group which features local storyteller, Jake Evans – from 7pm until 9pm in the café, and the Mill exhibition will be free to visit on the evening, open from 7pm.” - Shrewsbury Flaxmill Matings
